pay attention

My cousin, Mindy, posted a blog a few days ago about a friend of hers that was recently hit by a car on her lunch break. The 22 year old boy that hit her had just left the doctors office where he was hit with news that the cancer he thought was gone had now returned. As he was driving he looked down for just a few seconds, and the rest is a blur.

In her post, Mindy went on to say that she tried to count the number of times she looks down while driving and the count amazed her. We get so wrapped up in text messages, phone calls, kids in the backseat, reaching for purses, grabbing a new CD (the list goes on and on) that we forget how to stay focused on the road in front of us.

For the next few days challenge yourself to keep an open eye for the things you usually let go unseen. It may be that the things usually left unattended are the ones you are too stubborn to fix. It's not just driving, maybe for you it goes deeper than that - - with your eyes open, press on to the next layer. I promise it will be worth it.

Hey Allison, Just wanted to say Happy Birthday and that I enjoy reading your blog. I also wondered how you got the custom header on your site? I found a website where i could create my own header, and I love it- but I can't figure out how to put it in my blog.

Thanks
