Some people say it's not good to hold onto the past - but when I find myself in a little valley of doubt I like to take a step back and open up a special shoe box. I'm getting ready to move out of my apartment, and as I was looking through my closet I came across the box - full of cards and letters from friends and family. Most of them go back to 2006 - the year my life took a drastic turn for the better. Special "thank you" cards, your "bad day" cards, a letter from dad to his "little angel", notes and cards from mom (that woman is the best & so great with words) - -
all of those things can really cheer up a doubtful soul.

Just a little side note, if you don't have a box - - I'm pretty sure you should start one. I found a card that just had my name on the outside, and then several people wrote inside with their feelings towards me. You know, the feelings that you need to read about when you're pretty sure nothing is going right.
(When in fact, the only thing going wrong is your bad attitude)

This is just a random post, but I wanted to say "thanks" to the people who have put words in that box. Sometimes all we need is a reminder of how truly special/unique/strong/determined/etc we are

I have a box like that. When I was let go from HPCC, my youth group started one for me. I called it my "I miss Mishawaka Box." Even though I moved back I still have it and add to it when I get a card or letter that is really encouraging.
