My weekend started on Thursday - because I got to spend time with a bunch great people for an amazing purpose...the welcome home visit from Gess Huff. As soon as she sat down stories started rolling, and the height of my caffeine trip made it that much more exciting. I hadn't gotten to spend time with this group for a while so it was really nice to catch up. We'll just say that Uptown Kitchen was extremely blessed to have us all there...being loud...and crazy =)
Friday was the "Slumber Party" - since all the men were at the Mens Retreat, Mrs. Aquila and I took it upon ourselves to have a few girls over for a retreat of our own. Pizza, cookies, movies, laughter, STORIES....it was a good time. Whether it's taking giant leaps with these girls, or just sitting down for a movie - we all get a chance to learn from each other.
Saturday was the start of "family weekend" down in Indy where Eric took us on a nice little bike ride =) We like to joke around that I had the "hummer" of bikes...so I didn't enjoy this stroll as much as everyone else - but we managed to make it fun (like always). I had woken up that morning to a lovely cold, so after our adventurous bike ride - - I felt like crap. Buuuut it was off to dinner to meet up with some old friends.
Sunday rolled around and all I wanted to do was sleep...so I drove home from Eric's and made that happen. With a little nap, I was ready for GSM. We were blessed with Jason Miller's wonderful worship...and DC rocked out. I absolutely love serving with the GSM team...us female leaders got together afterwards to chat about our upcoming "Chick Nite" event. Get excited girls, it's going to be Fuuuunnn!! =) And that's all I'm gonna say*
....and after all of that....the Red Sox lost....such a sad story*
