Meet Sarah Koutz, she's amazing! I've blogged several times about her, but no words could ever explain what her friendship means to me. As I posted before, she and I are lucky enough to help out with the Food Drop this year. We will be tackling the truck for Granger Student Ministries, along with very knowledgeable sight leaders. Our job: HAVE FUN, get everyone psyched up, run up and down the line of students cheering them on, and of course....making sure the correct number of boxes get loaded onto our truck. We had so much fun last year, and were pumped to hear that we could serve along side the rest of the team again this year.
What's cool about this year is that we are also doing the same exact food drop at our Elkhart site - - awesome! They will be loading up trucks and distributing the boxes as well. We are also partnering with Better World Books. This is an organization that takes donated books, sells them (if possible) and then we (GCC) are able to receive part of that profit. The books that aren't in good enough shape to sell will be then given to children around the world. How cool is that? So if you're planning on attending the Food Drop this year, January 10th, bring books! There will be a drop off place for them as you make your way into GCC.
What a great way to start off 2009!
