Chick Nite

"Whoa!" - - That's all I got

Chick Nite was amazing last night - we had a great turn out of students and leaders. We all packed into 3 different vans and headed off to enjoy a nice Scavenger Hunt. I was armed with a video camera, Skoutz had her camera, Brooke was charge of phone calls, and Ang took the keys to our sweet ride.
Lets just take a moment to picture us 4 in a van together...with seven high school girls - - are you picturing it?? Complete chaos!!! ....but totally worth it!

Steph talked to the girls about how to live their lives. Do you want to be running all over the place with no real direction? Do everything off the fly? Are you a planner? Do you look at a list and decide where to go, what to do, and in what order you are going to do things?

Let me just tell you, when I got back to Granger - I was dead! (and between Kasie Kyle and I...we had both found a way to hurt ourselves...my hip is still killing me!) We were running all over the place trying to capture as much as we could in what little time we had. When looking back on it, that's not how I want to live my life. There is only so much you can get done in one day, don't stress out when you see a list a mile long. Take a few days, let it all sink in, and you will accomplish it all with time. There's no need to fit a million things in a 24 hour period. (So much for me to say, I always want to get things done....I sometimes have a speedy personality.)

In the end, it was a fabulous night! I know if I got something out of it, I'm sure the students did as well. It's always neat to see what kind of turn out we end up having - I saw a few new faces...and I love seeing new faces!

PS. The Ditto's & Ekema's are coming over for a slumber party tonight....look out for that post later!

It is really awesome when a Mom can read her daughter's blog and learn a great lesson from it. "Thanks Al!" I will try to lighten up alittle more during these next few weeks when so much needs to be done and I feel a bit overwhelmed. Please keep me true to my promise. Thanks. I love you.
